The WCSO Operations Division contains three Uniformed Units. The Road Patrol Unit has forty-seven sworn deputies assigned to cover the 374 square miles and serve an estimated 100,000 people in Wicomico County.
All deputies assigned to Road Patrol are responsible for maintaining law and order within Wicomico County. They answer emergency and routine calls for service from the public, arrest criminal offenders, serve court orders, and enforce Maryland criminal and traffic laws.
Every deputy is tasked with daily functions while serving the citizens of Wicomico County. These entail many facets of Law Enforcement and require a great deal of knowledge, training, and experience to successfully achieve. Some daily responsibilities include responding or initiating a call for service.
