WCSO Property control is responsible for the logging and storage of all property and evidence that is seized or collected by deputies during the course of their duties. Typically items that are collected and submitted to property control may include, but are not limited to:
- Drugs and drug paraphernalia
- Items from a crime
Depending on the type of item, it may be kept in property until a trial has concluded or a crime involving that item is solved. Contraband items may also be destroyed and monies may be seized once a case is adjudicated. Any other items that are able to, are auctioned off at:Gov Deals
Hours for property release are by appointment each Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Property will only be released to the person who is named on the property record. The individual must have identification at the time of release. If the person named is unavailable to pick up their property, they can name an alternate person to pick it up. That person must have a letter signed and notarized by the owner of the property, authorizing that individual to pick up their property. That person must also provide proper identification at the time of release.
