Our Mission

To provide Wicomico County a safe, trauma-informed and family and child focused response to child maltreatment through assessment, investigation, prosecution, and treatment, and promote public education and prevention.

Our Multidisciplinary Response

No single agency can meet all the needs of maltreated children and their families. Applying a nationally recognized best practice model, the Wicomico Child Advocacy Center offers a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) approach representing child protective services, law enforcement, medical and mental health services, prosecution, and family advocacy. Our Services

Policies and practices are guided by the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR), partnering agency policies and procedures, best practice models, and accreditation standards from organizations including: National Children’s Alliance, Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, and Council on Accreditation. The Wicomico Child Advocacy Center is currently an Associate Member of the National Children’s Alliance, the accrediting entity for child advocacy centers.
